Abstract
Terminal text and media usage.
The study is divided in three parts and
contains
1. Household questionnaire,
2. Personal questionnaire and
3. Time budget recording.
Topics: 1. Household questionnaire: equipping the household with
electronic equipment; possession of personal computer; equipping BTX
device with alphabetic keyboard; magazines subscribed to; number of
telephones; amount of telephone bill and BTX costs; frequency of
contact with authorities; frequency of orders via BTX or by telephone;
mail-order company orders; taking care of bank business, booking trips
as well as orders with local retail trade via BTX; detailed recording
of interest in use of selected BTX offerings.
2. Personal questionnaire: intensity of use of teletext, terminal text
and television; frequency of leisure activities; private or
occupational use of office machines; attitude to required
identification of advertising in BTX (scale); detailed information on
frequency of use of information as well as sources of information used
for this; judgement on information offerings as well as BTX in general
(scales); attitude to the BTX magazine (scale); local residency;
memberships; political interest.
3. Time budget: detailed recording of the course of one day in
15-minute intervals, organized according place of activity (on the road
or at home), selected, prescribed activity categories in the course of
the day as well as media used.
Demography: age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; school
education; occupational training; occupation; occupational position;
employment; number of recipients of income; household income; household
composition; respondent is head of household; interest in politics;
city size; memberships.
