Abstract
Political attitudes and judgement on parties as well as politicians.
The contents of the three surveys (ZA Study Nos. 1323 - 1325) are each
devided in two, in a block of questions identical at all survey times
and a further block specific to the respective wave.
Topics: 1. The first set of topics encompasses the part common to all
three surveys as described under ZA Study No. 1323.
2. Beyond the common part the following questions were posed in this
wave: reasons for particular attraction by or rejection of parties
(scales); the significance of the federal chancellor or the party for
one´s own voting decision; reasons for party choice; assessment of the
effectiveness of personal political influence; judgement on support for
their representative by the voters; personal political participation
(scale); judgement on the usefulness of an environmental protection
party and assumptions about the Greens´ taking seats in the Federal
Parliament after the election in 1980; prognosis of vote gains or
losses by the parties in the Federal Parliament election; the
significance of the election campaign for one´s own voting decision;
materialist or postmaterialist attitude; reliable sources in the media
and in conversations for forming a political opinion; social origins;
religiousness of parents as well as their interest in politics and
their party preference; behavior at the polls in the first election;
always voting for the same party or change in party voted for;
possession of durable consumer goods; conclusion of a building loan
contract since the beginning of the year.
Demography: age; sex; marital status; religiousness in parental home;
employment; characteristics of spouse; household size; household
composition; position in household; interest in politics; personal
change in party voted for; characteristics of father.
