Abstract

The project “To what extent can user fees affect hepatitis B vaccination coverage rates in China?” was based on a household survey about knowledge and demand for Hepatitis B vaccination in rural villages in China. The data were collected using paper based questionnaires, and then inputted into a database. Data was extracted from the database into file formats suitable for statistical analysis. The survey was conducted in three periods or “waves”. Wave 1 was conducted in Henan province, wave 2 was conducted in the provinces Hainan, Hebei, Heilongiang, Jiangsu and Shandong, while wave 3 was conducted in Beijing and Ningxia. Based on our field experience the questionnaires were adjusted between waves. Most of the changes were made between waves 1 and 2. For wave 3 some further adjustments were made, partly based on experience and partly because the Beijing sample targeted migrant workers without Beijing Hokou. The datamaterial consists of three files.
