Abstract

The aim of the survey is to increase the level of knowledge about the situation of working immigrants from Poland and the Baltic countries. The survey grasps the barriers that immigrants experience and what immigrants believe can be done in order to improve their situation in Norway. The survey covers a series of themes that are relevant from an integration perspective, such as language qualifications, demands for information, family relationships, adaption to Norwegian culture, plans for the future and motives for coming to Norway. Based on the assumption that what happens at the workplace is also important for life outside the workplace, the survey also focuses on working hours, wage and other questions relating to working life.
