Abstract

Since the Labour Force Survey consists of a relatively short interview while samples are very large, the economic and efficiency considerations often adds additional studies for all or part of the sample. This makes links between the data possible. The survey of Wishes for working hours, part-time work and work activity in 1977, is one such additional investigation. The survey was conducted by Statistics Norway and funded by the Directorate of Rationalisation. It was desired to assess the prevalence of part-time work, in which industries and occupations part-time work is most prevalent, and family and working part-time employees compared to the conditions of those working full time.
