Abstract

Political attitudes, judgement on the parties and party preference of family and friends. Topics: political interest; attitude to co-determination and to abortion as well as ability of the parties regarding these topics; attitude to wearing election badges and personal conduct regarding this; sympathy scale for SPD, CDU, CSU, FDP, NPD and DKP; behavior at the polls (first vote and second vote) in the Federal Parliament elections 1969 and 1972; personal party ties; party preference of father; detailed demographic information on closest friends as well as their party preference; religiousness; local residency. Demography: age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; school education; vocational training; occupation; household income; size of household; composition of household; self-assessment of social class; social origins; city size; state. Also encoded were the following aggregate data from the records of the census of 1970: absolute number of residents; population change since 1961; average age of residential population; for each region percentage proportions were recorded for the following: marital status, religion, employment rate, employees in various economic areas, workers, civil servants and employees, foreigners.
