First time conducted in 1970, public opinion toward highways building was conducted again in 90s, before realisation new laying out of highways. Respondents answered the questions concerning different points of view of highways (functional, ecological, social), expressed opinion toward concrete new segments, mode of financing, safety. We find out what kind of transport habits people have and how mobile they are. The questionnaire also provides the standard socio-demographic battery.
Abstract
Goal of the survey was to study possible variation in attitudes on usefulness of highway system in every day life, between residents of larger towns and smaller settlements, that lie in highway vicinity. Survey also includes analysis of usefulness of specific sections of highway before and after building new sections, as well as perception of highways system users about benefits and obstacles that driving on highway may bring.
