Abstract

Typical forms and courses of development of personality and social conduct of young people depending on social factors and conditions. Topics: Frequency of reading regional and national newspapers and preferred topics; frequency of watching or listening to special broadcasts on radio and television of the GDR (scale); frequency of listening to or watching broadcasts of West German radio or television; desired occupation; school achievements corresponding to desired occupation; motives for choice of occupation (scale); presence of a friend and circle of friends; age and sex of friends; frequency of meeting with friends; sense of well-being in one's circle of friends; comparison of circle of friends and FDJ group; effect of friends on school achievements; presence of a best friend or girl friend; sense of well-being in the class; acceptance of tasks of the FDJ; occupation with Marxism-Leninism and attempt to find a socialist position; assessment of the collective character of the FDJ group; assessment of youth life in the FDJ group; conviction that socialism will be successful world-wide; physical complaints (headaches); frequency of use of nicotine; following political events; readiness to join a political party; pride to be a citizen of the socialist state; solidarity with the GDR; world view; motive for service in the NVA; interests: geography, literature, economy, physics, psychology, film, politics, military, technology, fashion, history, morals, music, biology, sport, chemistry, dance, travel; assessment by parents: child-raising problems in view of school achievements, school habits, disobedience; different opinion of parents in raising of young people; frequency of conflicts between parents and young people; teacher judgement: self-confident, active for socialism, happy and fun-loving, intelligent, politically informed, lerns easily, responsibility in collective, pays attention during instruction, convicing others...
