Abstract

Political attitudes and general personality characteristics of beginning students in Berlin and Muenster. Topics: Origin and socialization milieu; course of education; motivation for studies and reasons for selection of the subject; occupation prospects; professional image; profile of demands on the desired occupation; political interest; party preference; membership in a party or political college group; active participation in school representation; memberships during time in school; judgement on the political development of the FRG; financing of studies. Scales: fear, anomy, dogmatism, nationalism and rigidity. Demography: age; sex; marital status; school education; vocational training; occupation; income; housing situation; social origins; refugee status; military service.

Census of all beginning sociology students in the winter semester 1965/66 in Muenster and at the FU Berlin (122 cases). From the beginning jurisprudence students at the FU Berlin a sample of 49 students was interviewed.
