Abstract

Study conditions and learning conditions of students at West German universities. Judgement on opportunities to participate and communication within the university. Topics: satisfaction with studies; satisfaction with social contacts at the university; judgement on the codification of the course of studies and one´s own competence to study (scales); number and outcome of oral and written examinations in the past semester; understanding of one´s role as student and teacher-student attitude (scales); study activities with others; intrinsic motivation or fear and work climate in courses (semantic differentials); characterization of participation of students and college instructors in courses; sanction practices of seminar leaders and students (scale); structuredness or complexity of courses; social closeness in courses (scale); communication in courses; communication structure at the university and self-assessment of degree of information about university and studies; detailed recording of actual and desired opportunities to participate of individual group members of a university; degree sought; type of entitlement to university admission; housing situation; social origins. Demography: age; sex; school education.
