Abstract

Data from a thesis delivered at the Department of Special Education at the University of Oslo. The aim of the study was to investigate the connection between decoding difficulties and spelling difficulties in pupils with dyslexia and more general reading and writing difficulties. In addition, the study sheds light on the consequences of the selection procedures for which students fall into the dyslexia group. The survey was carried out in two phases where students in the 7th grade at schools in Trondheim took various tests that measured writing/reading skills and other skills.
