Abstract

Judgement on distance education courses as means to overcome deficits in the education system. Topics: General assessment of education chances in the FRG and the connection between school education and prospects of advancement; source used for information about the distance education course; course length and working hours per learning unit; judgement on the quality of the workbooks; satisfaction with the course; improvement recommendations for teaching methods, instructional material and organization of instruction; judgement on one´s own occupational situation and the usability of the course knowledge; expectations of the distance education course; assessment of the support for performance through seminars, example cases and questionnaire; judgement on supervision of performance; course result in grades; reason for participation in distance eucation and if appropriate reason for discontinuing; position at work. Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; school education; vocational training; occupation; professional position; employment; income. Also encoded were: result classifications according to the records of the distance education institute; type of course participants.
