Social situation, study conditions, occupation concepts and social
conduct of philology and physics students at three German universities.
Topics: Earlier vocational training and employment before start of
course of studies; study motivation; advice centers in the choice of
subject; satisfaction with advice on studies; change of college;
examination sought; examinations passed; judgement on supervision of
performance through earning certificates and intermediate examinations;
general work and study conditions; use of institute libraries and
university library; difficulties in obtaining literature; factual and
personal integration; participation in tutoring groups; scientific and
personal contact with college instructors; study work during the
semester and in semester breaks; working on material after lectures;
intensity of study work; number of hours registered and attened each
week; attending courses outside of subject; studies expectations and
studies reality; concepts of later occupation; judgement on relevance
