Abstract
Defence Research Centre did for the purpose of Republican Secretariat for National Defence conducte a survey "Senior Officers in Republic Slovenia Armed Forces". Subject of research was interest vocational perform the command task in the Slovenian army. It is to identify the factors, that inside individual categories of respondents motivatance of the military profession and to identify the elements of value system that define the relationship to the Army and the military profession. (Sources of threats to, expectations regarding the role of Army in modern society). The survey also offered empirical material for scientific research approach to the study of military occupation in modern societies and serves as a starting point for a comparative study of the problem of the military profession.
