The surveys were conducted by Statistics Norway on behalf of NORAD, as an addition to labor force surveys (LFS). The purpose was to assess the attitudes of Norwegian development aid and the factors that influence these. In 1972 and 1974 also searched to identify people's knowledge of foreign aid. Later on it has been placed on examining people's perceptions of media coverage of developing countries and development assistance issues. Abstract

The surveys were conducted by Statistics Norway on behalf of NORAD, as an addition to labor force surveys (LFS). The purpose was to assess the attitudes of Norwegian development aid and the factors that influence these. In 1972 and 1974 also searched to identify people's knowledge of foreign aid. Later on it has been placed on examining people's perceptions of media coverage of developing countries and aid issues. Development assistance surveys were later continued as part of SSB's omnibus, in March 1993, May 1995 and November 1996.
