The panel survey was conducted annually from 1997. The panel survey is conducted in the spring, and covers the same subject as the cross-sectional survey that is conducted in the fall.

Abstract

This data set is taken from the Level of Living Survey, that was first conducted in 1997. The panel surveys was conducted in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Questionnaires and the execution of the survey was prepared by Statistics Norway. The theme of studies is mainly health, housing conditions and working conditions, subjects that correspond to the annual cross-sectional surveys. The gross sample for the survey was approximately 5000 people aged 16-80 years. Since it is a panel survey, it was sought to maintain as many as possible of the same respondents. However, it was supplemented with new respondents on the basis of apostasy and representativeness of the youngest age group (16-year-olds). The original panel through all the survey was 3059 persons. The net response rate was between 79-75%. The panel survey has the advantage that it can follow the progress of the people interviewed in the previous studies, although it was maintained a distinction between follow-up interview and the initial interview.
