Electoral behaviour, questions on the political system and attitudes towards political parties. Topics: Voting in the 1997 Presidential elections; voting in Parliamentary elections (Sunday question); most important problem in Serbia; worries in the next year; measures for improving situation in Serbia; likelihood of voting in the next elections; heart about political parties and coalitions; best leader for Serbia; opinion about S. Milosevic; voting in Republic elections (Sunday questions); goals of the future leader of Serbia; successful party in fulfilling the goals; most urgent economic problem; evaluation of the opposition; attitude towards the Alliance for Change (AFC); need for a united opposition; claims about opposition leaders; AFC successful or weak; rally as a crucial point or exception; future participation in opposition rallies; ways of addressing voters; voting in the 1997 Parliamentary elections; support of the AFC and S. Milosevic. Demography: Gender, age; education; occupation; nationality; school-age children; number of household members; financial situation; registration for voting; region.

Sampling procedure

A three-stage stratified representative sample was drawn in accordance with the principles of probability model of sampling. The first stage of stratification included demographic regions, the second one municipality, proportionally in urban and other type of settlements, and the third one local community. At the next (fourth) stage, a quota selection was applied inside local communities.
