Abstract

When the Statens Nærings- og Distriktutviklingsfond (SND) was established, emphasis was placed on developing a target and result reporting system that could make the new institution develop in a uniform manner. After thorough work, a system was implemented in 1994 to measure both effects, activity and productivity. In principle, this system included all the instruments managed by SND. For each cohort, a pre-survey is carried out one year after the service was provided, in addition to a follow-up survey four years later. For the operational year 1998, Møreforsking Molde carried out an evaluation survey in 1999, as well as a follow-up survey in 2002. The survey covers the following areas: 1. General information about the project for which support is sought 2. The establishment's organization and implementation 3. The significance of support from SND for strategy, competence and the like 4. Results and effects of the support from SND 5. General information about SND 6. Background information SND was established on the basis of the Storting's processing of the Government's legislative proposal in Ot.prp. no. 57 (1991-92) and established with effect from 3 July 1992. At the same time as SND was established, the previous institutions Distriketenes Utbyggsfond, Småbedriftsfondet and Industrifondet were closed down and their operations taken up in the new special law company. 5. From the same time, Industribanken AS was dissolved.
