Abstract

Full edition for scientific use. The aim of the Student Social Survey 2019 is to collect data on study and living conditions of students in Austria. The survey, which has been conducted at regular intervals since 1973, provides an important basis for the design of higher education policy measures. Most of the information collected via the social survey is not otherwise available. The range of topics covered by the Student Social Survey is very broad and varied and is intended to be able to provide an overview of the social situation of different groups of students, such as first-year students, students in bachelor's/master's or diploma programs, doctoral students, working students, students with children, older students and foreign students. For this purpose, all regular students at universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education and private universities were invited by e-mail to participate in the Student Social Survey in the summer semester of 2019. More than 45000 students completed the comprehensive online questionnaire in full.
