Abstract
Attitude of the German population to work.
Topics: The content of this study is identical to the questionnaire
described in ZA Study No. 1346.
Beyond this the following questions were posed in this investigation:
assessment of wage equity for men and women in the Federal Republic;
attitude to women´s work; grumpy in the morning; questions on economy
and society; expected economic development in the Federal Republic and
effects of zero growth; daily watching television; most important
things in life; original employment desire at conclusion of school;
preference for creation of jobs or environmental improvement; number of
sick days and days of vacation in 1981; agreed upon and actual hours
worked each week; leisure activities as well as secondary occupational
activities with and without payment; more work satisfaction from
full-time or secondary occupational activity; comparison of ´modern
working world´ with work ´earlier´; assumed reasons for current high
unemployment; recommendations for combating unemployment; reasonable
demands of unemployed to improve their chances of employment; attitude
to becoming self-employed; assessment of personal occupational position
as an enviable position; achievement orientation (scale); boredom at
work; judgement on achievement morals of the Germans; undeveloped
personal capabilities; preference for a job corresponding to abilities
or for more income; most important media sources; (to housewives:
interest in employment); attitude to completion of work not finished by
