Abstract

Information and communication practices as well as knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in connection with AIDS. Attitude to education about AIDS and attitude to HIV-infected people. Topics: satisfaction with personal condition of health; greatest health danger for the German population; most dangerous illnesses in the Federal Republic; knowledge about AIDS; assessment of the danger of AIDS infection in selected situations; knowledge about the possibilities of infection with AIDS in various situations; knowledge about the HIV test; frequency, place and point in time of HIV tests conducted by respondent; knowledge about the significance of the test result HIV positive; probability of personal contacts with HIV infected persons; personal contacts with AIDS patients or HIV infected; discrimination or observed behavior with HIV infected in the media and in personal surroundings; concern about personal AIDS disease or HIV infection in one's circle of friends; assessment of personal risk of infection due to sexual intercourse; sources of information about AIDS used; frequency of the topic "AIDS" in one's circle of friends; personal counseling on AIDS; use of AIDS brochures of the health authorities; manner and time of last receipt of AIDS education in the media as well as in special information events; participation in an AIDS information event as well as place of event and adviser; AIDS counseling in school; knowledge about the poster action "Gib AIDS keine Chance" {don't give AIDS a chance}; knowledge about the "Mach's mit" ads on radio {do it with (condom)} (advertising success control); knowledge about the central telephone AIDS counseling; self-assessment of extent to which informed about AIDS; interest in further information on how one can protect oneself from infection with the AIDS Virus; interest in the situation in life of AIDS patients; interest in medical research reports about AIDS; media usage, private and occupational Internet use and going to the...
