Analysis of the spatial distribution of the population of the city of Bern in 1764 according to class-specific criteria; comparison of results with the condition after industrialization (1896). Topics: Information on topography: residence, quarter, street, building number. Social position: sex of head of household, lineage name with patricans, status of head of household, council membership of head of household, offices of the closer political elite. Information on household: civilian status of head of household, number of adult persons (head of household and spouse), number of other adult persons, number of children, number of servants and journeymen, number of maids, number of boarders, number of orphans, sick, prisoners, occupation of head of household.
