Abstract
This study of Magrit Grabas deals with the process of Germany´s industrial and econommical development from 1885 to 1914, analysed on the basis of substantial statistics (time series data.
Main emphasis of the analysis about the historical economic situation is a quantitative market analysis of the economic development´s process from 1895 to 1914 in Germany. Aim is to describe similarities and differences of three economical cycles falling into this period and in particular the three growth crises 1900/1901, 1907/1908 as well as 1913.
Furthermore, the author defines and analyses an economical ´prosperity constellation´ of the period 1895-1914, relevant in their meaning for the explanation of the process of cyclical development. Within this study is is also analysed wether there has been signs for a transition toward a new growth period and how relevant thereby has been the diffusion of technical progress.
In the context of this study monthly data of 7 sub-areas and yearly data of 11 sub-areas are conducted. The data are free available as time series via the downloadsystem HISTAT.
