The main questions adressed are: is computing an occupation which offers opportunities for the employment of persons handicapped by physical disability?; can specific opportunities or obstacles be identified and what strategies should be adapted to maximise the employment opportunities for disabled people?

Simple random sample
All professionals registered with the National Computing Centre (NCC) and the British Computer Association for the Blind (BCB) were surveyed. A simple random sample of employers was drawn from the NCC mailing list, with a bias towards the north west (500 from the north west, 500 from the rest of Great Britain).
