Abstract

The dataset consists of texts on experiences of visiting social and health services in Finland during the COVID-19 pandemic. The writers were people aged over 18 residing in Finland who had visited social and/or health services during the coronavirus pandemic. The described visits included all visits which the writers thought had been impacted by the coronavirus situation at the time, not only visits related to coronavirus infections or suspected infections. The writing guidelines directed the writers to describe how the COVID-19 pandemic had affected their life, what had prompted them to contact social or health services during the pandemic, and how the coronavirus situation at the time had affected their experience of visiting social or health services. The writers were also asked how they would improve the functionality of social and health services in exceptional circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Background information included the participant's gender, age group, and household composition, and the reason why they had visited social or health services during the pandemic. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
