Abstract

The dataset consists of observation notes made about meetings and events held by amateur naturalist societies, and a few other nature-related events in Finland. Observations were made in the meetings of Tampere Botanical Association, Tampere Entomological Society and Tampere Mycological Society, in the events and seminars organised by Pirkanmaa Ornithological Society and the Natural History Museum of Tampere, as well as in the publication event of a bird atlas. Altogether, 11 meetings or events were observed. In the notes, the researcher described, for instance, the progress of the events, subjects talked about and contributions of the audience in the events. Some persons who have been mentioned in the observation notes were also interviewed. The interviews are achived as a separate dataset (see FSD2956). These persons can be connected to the interviewees in the dataset FSD2956 through the interview identifier. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
