Abstract

This project aims to study how human and organizational factors can influence safety in the maritime transport sector. The project identifies individual, interpersonal, and organizational factors that influence safety culture and sustain desirable safety performance in the maritime transport sector. A cross-sectional survey was carried out among seafarers. In addition three cross-sectional surveys were carried out among passengers on the same ships with a focus on their knowledge, attitudes and behaviour. The study includes four datasets: "Sikkerhet om bord, 2012-2013", "Passasjerer A", "Passasjerer B" and "Passasjerer C".
