Abstract

This dataset consists of 3 shapefiles based on the COROP (i.e. NUTS3) zonation. Three non-overlapping zones for the Netherlands have been defined: Randstad, Intermediate Zone and Peripheral Zone. The definition of the zones follows from a publication by Wagtendonk, & Rietveld (2000) about spatial developments in the housing sector between 1980 and 1995.

The link between the zones and the underlying COROP/NUTS3-regions is maintained in the attribute table of the shapefiles. That way, you can see which COROP/NUTS3-regions are part of which zone (Randstad, Intermediate Zone, Peripheral Zone).
