Abstract

Survey of interviewers about their interviewer activity and data about the interviewer from records of the survey institute. Topics: education; manner of financing studies; occupation of father; affinity with technology; degree of social contact; position in sibling sequence; child-raising by father or mother; interest in sociology; grade in the methods seminar; reading technical literature; interest in result of investigation; expected effort in conducting interviews; interviewer experience with market and opinion research institutes; assessment of unpleasant questions; contacts with professors; car possession; membership in a political unification; intelligence quotient; Brengelmann test; knowledge test as well as expected percent distribution in the population for questions of the primary investigation; quotient for time expended and successfully conducted interviews; distance between place of residence of respondent and that of interviewer; number of contacts with the institute; interviewer motivation and problems with the interviewer from the point of view of the institute; number of contact attempts with the respondent and successful debriefings; most important problems in establishing contact and in conducting surveys as well as best strategies to reduce resistance to the survey.
