Abstract

This dataset consists of interview transcripts with employees of five organisations involved in immigrant integration in Jyväskylä, Finland. For most of the organisations studied in this dataset, organised activities are not exclusively aimed at immigrants, but rather at all residents in the city regardless of their background. There are six interviews in total, including one pair interview. Interview questions focused on, for example, how the interviewee's organisation supported the integration of immigrants into society, what kind of multicultural work the organisation did, and whether there were any ideologies behind the organisation's activities. The interviewees were also asked about their own background in working with immigrants (e.g. how many years they had been working with immigrants) as well as their perceptions of their organisation's challenges and successes in immigrant integration. Background information included, among others, the interviewee's organisation and gender. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
