Abstract

Independence of national justice systems in the EU.
Topics: assessment of the national justice system in terms of the independence of courts and judges; importance of each of the following aspects with regard to the assessment: interference from government and politicians, interference from economic or other groups with specific interest, insufficient independence of status and position of judges. Demography: information about the company (limited to activities in the own country): number of employees, year of company establishment; total turnover in 2015; sales to other EU countries and to countries outside the EU; percentage of the value of sales to other EU member states in 2015; direct selling to final consumers and / or to other companies or organisations; involvement in disputes that went to court in the last two years. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; country; NACE-Code; region; size of company; nation group; weighting factor.
