Reasons for the geographic mobility of the American population. Topics: Search for information and decision-making process before moving; description of previous residence; general attitude to moving; number and distance of previous moves; neighborhood; social ties; local ties and satisfaction with residential area; extent to which informed about government support for housing construction; attitude to house ownership; self-assessment of social class and assumed social class of neighbors; departures determined in the neighborhood; social origins; membership in organizations and clubs; rent costs; shopping habits. Demography: age (classified); family composition; number of children; occupation; employment; size of household; composition of household; social origins; media usage. Interviewer rating: willingness of respondent to cooperate; presence of other persons; judgement on building and residence furnishings.
