Abstract

Typical forms and courses of development of personality and social conduct of young people depending on social factors and conditions. Topics: Frequency of watching special broadcasts on television of the GDR (scale); frequency of listening to or watching broadcasts of West German radio or television; desired occupation; school achievements corresponding to desired occupation; planned path of education after school degree; motives for choice of occupation (scale); presence of a friend and a circle of friends; age and sex of friends; frequency of meeting with friends; sense of well-being in one's circle of friends; comparison of circle of friends and FDJ group; effect of friends on school achievements; presence of a best friend or a girl friend; sense of well-being in the class; acceptance of tasks of the group council; assessment of life in the FDJ group; occupation with Marxism-Leninism and attempt to find a socialist position; assessment of the collective character of the class; member of FDJ and pride in this; physical complaints (headaches, nausea, stomachaches, sleeplessness); frequency of use of nicotine; conviction that socialism will succeed world-wide; following political events; readiness to join a political party; world view; pride to be a citizen of the socialist state; motives for service in the NVA; solidarity with the working class; agreement of one's own interests with those of the socialist state; readiness to do everything for the protection of socialism; evaluation of the following statements: working class and truth or right are united, readiness to take a stand for socialism, socialism is only possible under leadership of the working class, trust in leadership by the SED, exploitation of people by people is a problem of humanity, democracy requires freedom also for communists, democracy requires independence of politics from business interests, standing up for the ideas of communism; solidarity with...
