Slovene Public Opinion Survey
Politbarometer is a monthly series of surveys detecting the evaluations of situation in society and of the government performance. The Slovenian Politbarometer block borrowed questions from the German Politbarometer series by the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, Mannheim. It repeats standard questions and additionally covers the current affairs. Each year part of the questions repeats also in personal field SJM survey.
Slovenia's Integration in the European Union
Abstract
The purpose of the surveys is to gain insight into the complex picture of factors and process of attitudes formation about EU in a period of accession. Research questions were formulated in following items: Media participation, information sources and factors of opinion formation; Media participation, the level of awareness, interest in the EU and referendum intention; Respondents' expectations regarding EU integration; Advantages and disadvantages of Slovenia's integration in the EU; Expectations of European Union membership: arguments in favour and against entering; Who will gain and who will lose on entering the EU; Assessment of Slovenia's economic situation in the EU; Assessment of the financial position of households after entering the EU; Respondents' views of the key dilemmas regarding Slovenia joining the EU; Would you be sorry if Slovenia were not to join the EU; Who is slowing the EU integration process down; Inclination of the European and Slovenia publics towards Slovenia joining the EU; Is Slovenia's status equal to other candidate-countries; Can Slovenia develop successfully even if it does not join the EU; Referendum intention; Assessment of the European Commission report; Programme for improving the awareness of the Slovenian public about the European Union and EU integration; Familiarity with specific activities of the government's Programme.
