The survey covered the total active population of the respective nationalities of the EU member states, aged 15 years and over, resident in the countries involved in the survey. Retired and unemployed persons, housewives and students, etc., were excluded. Non-Europeans were included, on condition that they could be interviewed in the national language(s) of the country where they work.
