International Social Survey Program (ISSP), Norwegian part

ISSP develops and coordinates annual surveys in their member countries, and the topics for research are repeated at intervals of a few years. The " Environment" survey was conducted for the first time in Norway in 1993, and partially replicated in 2000. The objective of the surveys is to create an empirical foundation for studying attitudes and behaviour in relation to nature and environmental protection.

Abstract

This survey is conducted on the basis of the research work in "The International Social Survey Programme" (ISSP). ISSP is an international organization where members develop and coordinate annual surveys, mainly in the fields of political science and sociology. The topics of the surveys vary, but topics are replicated every few years so that it is possible to measure the changes in patterns of behavior and attitudes over time and differences between countries and cultures. In 1989, the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD) became member of the ISSP and NSD has since been responsible for conducting the survey in Norway. In 2010, the goal was to collect data on environment.
