Study title

The material consists of writings related to Finns' memories of the 1973 military coup in Chile. In the writing call respondents were asked to write about how they experienced the events of the military coup in Chile and the coverage of these events in Finland. As a guiding question, the respondents were asked whether the they had participated for example in solidarity campaigns or concerts as a spectator or performer, whether they had been involved in organising solidarity events or whether they remembered any demonstrations. Respondents were also asked whether they started to follow world politics in a new way after the events in Chile. The call also asked for any encounters with Chilean refugees. The respondent's gender, age and occupation are given as background information, if provided by the respondent. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.
