Abstract
Development and child-raising in pre-school age. General questions on
family socialization as well as the economic and social situation of
the respondent.
Topics: 1. On family structure: children living in the household and
their demographic characteristics; financial support payments for
children living outside the home; detailed recording of all remaining
persons living in the house; handicapped members of the household and
those in need of care.
2. On housing situation: housing conditions; size of residence;
residence financing; receipt of housing benefit; length of residence;
frequency of moving, year of construction of residential building.
3. On residential surroundings: contacts, activities, errands and
utilization of various infrastructure facilities as well as services in
one´s part of town or outside; knowledge and utilization of selected
public advice facilities for mothers; characterization of residential
area regarding location as well as environmental pollution and
suitability for children; perception of social control by the
neighbors.
4. On employment: previous and current employment; commuting time to
place of work; work satisfaction; attitude to continued employment
given a hypothetical receipt of child benefit; judgement on selected
statements on the problem of employment and family.
5. On raising children: reading pedagogical books; most important
child-raising problems; attitude to raising children and preferred
child-raising style (scale); evaluation of raising children in
kindergartens; participation in parents meetings; desired number of
children; expected problems with an additional child; child care during
personal absence; participation of husband in raising children,
housework and pedagogical further education events.
6. On development and child-raising of the target child (preschool-age
child): opportunities to play; opportunities to sleep; own room for the
child; furnished with toys and children´s books as well as...
