Slovene Public Opinion Survey

Slovenian Public Opinion (SJM) survey series closely resembles the type of General Social Surveys, well known in other countries. The aim is to provide the scientific community with relevant data about changes in subjective perceptions and attitudes of general population. Abstract

Main goal of the survey is to study interdependence between international security conditions in socio-economic, political, security and value change in Slovenia, as well as the need for adaptation of national security system of Slovenia to the needs that arising from European integration processes. Survey is addressing position of public to diverse segments of national security policy and other issues and phenomena that are important for national security. Survey is additionally addressing view about abolishment of compulsory military service and introduction of complete professional army in Slovenia. A part of the survey that relates to values, views on social situation and attitude to political parties is in some publications treated as independent survey SJM 2007/02.
