Abstract

The survey "Childrens Families 1996" covers a nationally representative sample of children aged 4, 10, and 16 at the time of the interview. The total sample includes just over 3,000 children. The survey maps family patterns at the child's birth and throughout their upbringing. The sampling and data collection were conducted by Statistics Norway, and the project was led by An-Magritt Jensen. The statistical unit is the child, but the information was provided by an adult in the child's household. The response rate was 71.3%. The documentation report notes no sample bias in terms of gender and region, but there is some underrepresentation of 16-year-olds compared to 4- and 10-year-olds (Vaage 1996).
