Abstract

Impacts of extreme weather events on infrastructure in Norway (InfraRisk) InfraRisk Module B - Calculation of avalanche and rockfall prone roads and railways The research project "Impacts of extreme weather events on infrastructure in Norway (InfraRisk)" was completed in the period 2010 to 2013 as part of NORKLIMA program (2004-2013), and was a collaboration between researchers from the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, Norwegian Meteorological Institute, CICERO Centre for Climate Research and Transport Economics. InfraRisk was a so-called competence project with user involvement from NPRA, National Rail Administration and the National Training Centre for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (NUSB). The project has studied changes in extreme weather and the effects extreme weather events have on infrastructure related to the transport sector in Norway. The interdisciplinary collaboration has been the interface between the physical processes, vulnerability and risk.
