Abstract

This data is a part of a PhD thesis that aims to explore the grocery shopping experience of older individuals (aged 65+) in the United Kingdom (UK). In order to provide a better shopping experience to older individuals in future research. A self-administered web-based questionnaire was adopted to obtain a large number of opinions about the finding of the literature reviews and a card sorting method was done by the researcher. Ethical approval was obtained from the University of Southampton research ethics committee before starting the recruitment process (Ethics/ERGO Number: 62401). The questionnaire was designed using Microsoft Forms and the link of the questionnaire was sent between June and August 2021 to the participants through third parties, with the poster containing the main information about the research aim and data management. In addition, posters were placed in different places in Southampton and Winchester where older individuals normally gather, such as grocery stores and supermarkets, cafes and places of worship. The questionnaire covered several points, namely: shopping behaviour, labelling, store layout and products, checkouts, shopping satisfaction, technology use, and demographic information.
