Abstract

Traditionally, Norway has been characterized by low productivity and have low scores on innovations and R&D statistics. In spite of this, Norway is at the productivity top and is enabling a number of new innovative industry sectors. These issues will be studied by qualitative micro level case studies of firms in four different sectors which performs very well in international competition.The study consists of two sets of qualitative interviews. One case study was conducted in 2009 and deals with the animation industry in Oslo. The second case study was conducted in 2010 and deals with fashion design businesses in Oslo.
