Abstract
The Crisis Monitor has been conducted regularly by the opinion research institute forsa on behalf of the Press and Information Office of the German Federal Government since calendar week 1/2023. The Crisis Monitor is a continuation of the representative population surveys Trendquestions Ukraine on the topic of Germany and the Ukraine war conducted regularly by forsa in the period from calendar week 13/2022 to 50/2023. The individual question areas were adjusted depending on the survey period. In the survey period from 02.01.2023 to 04.01.2023, the German-speaking resident population aged 14 and older was surveyed in telephone interviews (CATI). Respondents were selected using a multistage random sample.Germany should continue to maintain vs. end the decided economic sanctions against Russia; reasons for an end of the sanctions against Russia (harm Germany resp. the German economy, bring nothing resp. too little, etc.); extent of concerns about the following in connection with the war in Ukraine: Germany is being dragged into a war with Russia, Germany is taking on too much by taking in refugees from Ukraine, everything is becoming more expensive, use of nuclear weapons, endangerment of basic food supplies in Germany, endangerment of energy supplies in Germany, personal financial situation is deteriorating, financial difficulties due to additional payments for electricity and energy costs; satisfaction with regard to the way the German government is dealing with the effects of the war in Ukraine on Germany; relief measures adopted by the German government to date in view of rising prices are sufficient vs. further relief is needed; importance of further relief by the government for own household; informedness about personally received relief or relief of the household; noticeable relief of the own household by the relief measures adopted by the federal government so far; expected future relief of the own household by the relief measures adopted by the federal...
