Abstract
a) Collective biographical investigation of the lives of the
delegates to the social democratic party convention in general
(in particular in regards to occupational and political career
patterns) and as reflected by the party convention in Hamburg.
b) Analysis of the contents of the minutes of the party convention
and relevant articles in the press.
Topics: a) General variables of life, education and professional
training, positions in professional career, political offices
and offices in the workers´ movement (party organizations,
journalism, unions, cooperatives, health insurance companies),
behavior at the party convention (voting behavior, speeches,
motions made), modalities of delegating by the individual
Reichstag election organizations.
b) Analysis of motions, handling of points of order and conducting
negotiations, delegates´ political skill, opposition´s legitimacy,
speakers´ performance, order, list and speaking time,
representation of groups within the party, voting behavior.
