Abstract

Survey on Visitation and residence 2012 deals with the upbringing of children with separated parents. The questions were initially set in context to the youngest children in common, but the questions are also relevant for other children together. Both parents of the child in question is represented in the sample, that consists of the following six subgroups: all parents who do not live together, parents residence, parents with visitation rights, contributions spades, all the youngest children and all children in common. The study is funded by the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion (BLD), and conducted by Statistics Norway (SSB) as a telephone interview. The purpose of this study is to examine how parental benefits caring responsibility for children in common, and how this distribution varies between different groups. The survey results provide valuable information for the development of child and family policy. Through similar surveys in 2002 and 2004, it is possible to follow the development over time. This data set is referred to as the children file.
