Abstract
The aim of the study as part of the ‘Metavorhaben Digitalisierung im Bildungsbereich’ (Digi-EBF) was to identify research gaps in media didactics, media pedagogy and media education. This was intended to create an overarching understanding of which topics should be researched in more detail. In a first step, research gaps were identified on the basis of critical reviews carried out in Digi-EBF and assigned to six key topics as a basis for the questionnaire. This was followed by a survey of German-speaking researchers to determine the social relevance, prioritisation in the processing and the type of systematically selected research gaps. A total of 290 academics who conduct research in the context of education and digitalisation took part in the survey. In addition to scientific findings, the results are relevant for political decisions regarding the organisation of educational research funding in Germany.
