Slovenian Pulse

Slovenian Pulse is a series of short studies which have been conducted by the School of Advanced Social Studies in Nova Gorica since 2009. Surveys are carried out with telephone interview, every time with representative sample of at least 900 interviewees. Every year around 10 surveys are carried out which analyse relation of public opinion towards knowledge, identity, democracy, material welfare, Europe, political orientations, mass media, intercultural contacts, gambling and social development. Abstract

The survey examined what impact has knowledge today on incomes, job security and opportunities for a better job, how much formal education helps at work today at all, how many people further educate and in what way, what are their reasons and what barriers they face with. The survey this time also pays much attention to current events in Slovenian politics. Thus was presented attitudes of the people towards pension reform, the need for the referendum and the possibility of determination one referendum day per year. Current government support was measured and compared to the former Janša's government support. It was examined whether a support of individual political parties trends from the last year continue in this year too.
