Abstract

Family- and Occupation Survey 1988, male sample, shows the change in fertility, marriage and cohabitation. It is a follow-up study of the Fertility Survey 1977, but has a somewhat wider framework. Together, the two surveys give extensive knowledge of fertility and marriage patterns. This makes it possible to describe and analyze important aspects of the family formation process from the first steps and up to the family situation at the beginning of the 40-year age. The survey in 1988 placed great emphasis on obtaining retrospective educational and occupational histories. This is the male sample, the file for the female sample is documented in a separate file.
