Abstract
Action and play areas of children in two rural municipalities. Topics:
age and sex of children growing up in the household; size of household;
length of residence in city as well as in residence; age of father and
mother; judgement on the range of activity of the children in the
immediate vicinity of the residence and desired changes; preferred
places for the child to play; areas close to nature useable as play
areas in the residential surroundings; use habits and play conducted in
these areas close to nature; barns, stalls or attics and playmates
within reach in the vicinity; frequency of participation of child in
events or courses outside of school; transport to these events by
adults or travel by the child himself; afternoon child care in
kindergarten or privately organized; division of time budget of child
among selected activities; characterization of intellectual and social
abilities as well as dexterity of the child. Written recording of the
inventory of the residential surroundings by observers: type of
building and manner of construction; number of parties in the building;
location of residence in the building; presence of secondary structures
such as barn or stall; description of the zone within 50 meters of the
building regarding width of sidewalk, type of street, traffic calming
and parking spaces or presence of a yard in front of the building;
description of the vicinity within 200 meters of the house regarding
primary type of use of construction in the residential area;
information on areas close to nature, possible places with water,
playgrounds or accessible school yards and sport fields.
